Calumet & Compagnie is an independent site about vape kits, written in English for readers in the United Kingdom. The idea fits in one sentence. We take a popular kit, put it up against its direct rival and say, at the end, who each one suits best.

How we compare

Every comparison sets two kits made for the same kind of use against each other, on the things that matter in use, such as battery life, weight, handling, filling and the cost of consumables. We do not rank kits in the abstract, because a kit that is ideal for a newcomer can frustrate an experienced vaper.

A verdict for each profile

Our conclusions separate three types of adult vaper, the beginner who wants a simple kit, the experienced vaper who wants settings to play with, and the high-wattage direct-lung vaper, who needs electronics and cells up to the job. The recommended profile appears on the comparisons and in the summary table on the home page.

Who writes the comparisons

Comparisons are written by Benoît Sallès, who follows vaping hardware and its new releases closely. Every piece is checked before it goes live, and any correction sent to us is looked at.

UK readers

Our English pages are written with the United Kingdom in mind. Products sold in the UK follow the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, which cap nicotine strength at 20 mg/ml and tank capacity at 2 ml, so a kit sold elsewhere may come in a different version here.
